Community Garden Project

Vanguard Career and Technology Center would like to thank the Toledo Community Foundation and the ProMedica Advocacy Fund for providing us with the initial investment of $5,000.00 to create the handicap accessible community garden.  To date we have built four raised beds and have the handicap accessible wooden walkway for half of the 40 x 80 garden completed. The project has been a joint effort between the Design, Engineering & Architecture, Independent Living, and Building Trades Programs.   Throughout the upcoming winter months, additional walkway and raised beds will be constructed.

On Friday, April 28, 2017, there will be a “community build” where the plants being raised in the greenhouse by the Independent Living students, new seedlings, and additional plants will be moved and planted in the community garden as well as laying the rest of the walkway and raised beds.

We look forward to hosting community members and businesses as we prepare for a bountiful harvest! Please contact Ann Marie Pumphrey at 419.332. 2626 to discuss how you or your business can be involved.
